Molded tungsten molybdenum crucibles work very well in heat exchanger (HEM) process to melt and solidify single crystals. Plansee crucibles have thin walls and excellent creep resistance.
Pressed and sintered PLANSEE crucibles are mainly used in the foaming process for sapphire production. Higher sapphire yield and improved quality can be achieved when the sapphire is easy to extract. PLANSEE tungsten and molybdenum crucibles are heat-resistant and have a smooth surface, making them durable and economical. They are also resistant to corrosion and have a high material density.
PLANSEE pressed cermet crucibles are made of tungsten or molybdenum with a surface roughness of less than 0.8 µm. When the surface of the crucible is rough, the sapphire is not easy to take out, which is easy to damage the crystal. In addition, the crucible may be damaged in the process. PLANSEE ultra-smooth crucibles eliminate these problems. Sapphire producers can benefit from this product as it eliminates complex and costly processes. In addition, the smooth surface resists corrosion caused by aggressive molten sapphire. This function extends the service life of the reusable tungsten crucible.
Plansee molybdenum crucibles are in high demand. The reason for this demand is that the development of molybdenum is quite complex and requires in-depth knowledge of material handling and machine tuning. Plansee has the experience to meet this demand. According to Heike Lärcher, application group manager for single crystal growth at Plansee, the high purity material does not contaminate the single crystal.
PLANSEE has extensive experience in powder metallurgy and has developed crucibles of high purity and high density with uniform wall and bottom thicknesses, which is a key condition for excellent creep resistance. Tungsten and molybdenum crucibles are available in various sizes. These crucibles are successfully used by many customers and large manufacturers around the world. At Plansee, the crucible raw material is produced in its own hot rolling mill, which is considered the world’s largest hot rolling mill for refractory metals. Bulk tungsten and molybdenum sheets have been developed here, which will allow the facility to produce high-volume and high-volume products over the next few years.
PLANSEE manufactures and sells its products worldwide. It is stronger than any union and more diverse than one manufacturer. PLANSEE is the most trusted supplier of high performance refractory metal components. It is the market leader in high-performance materials produced by powder metallurgy, a true technological leader and a competent development partner. PLANSEE is also customer oriented, offers customized customer service, market-specific development and production, and is an expert in applications and materials.
